His extensive experience and background in hand and wrist surgery make him uniquely qualified to handle the entire gamut of orthopedic, vascular, tumor, nerve, and cutaneous problems of the upper extremity. His special area of interest and achievement is in peripheral nerve compressions. Dr. Brown’s career as a hand surgeon started in Danbury when he joined Surgical Associates of Western CT, and the staff at Danbury Hospital. He founded the Hand Center of Western Connecticut in 1989. In 2011, he merged offices with Danbury Orthopedics, where he continues to offer an integrated approach to treatment for hand, wrist, and upper extremity ailments, ranging from carpal tunnel syndrome, proximal nerve compressions, arthritis, joint reconstruction and replacement to tendonitis, tumor management, and trauma. Under Dr. Brown's guidance, an on-site surgery center and skilled hand therapy facility have come together to achieve maximum outcomes for the most difficult of upper extremity problems. Dr. Brown is a diplomate of the American College of Surgeons, a Fellow of the American Society for Surgery of the Hand, and past president of the New England Hand Society.
